From donating money and goods to MCC, to holding pizza sales, harvest dinners, and music nights, we come together in many ways to share the love of Christ with our community and our world.
MCC is Mennonite Central Committee, a nonprofit organization and a worldwide ministry of Anabaptist churches. MCC works in over 50 countries, partnering with local churches and organizations with similar values to provide relief in times of crisis; development in the areas of food, water, health care, and education; and education and support for peace and justice. Most of the funds from our pizza sales efforts are earmarked for MCC. We also donate items for relief, or put together school kits and health kits for distribution through MCC.
Folks get together and make soup to freeze so that it is available to take to anyone who may be in need of help or comfort in the form of a quick and delicious meal.
Periodically throughout the year, CCF hauls a trailer-mounted, wood-fired pizza oven to various venues and sells pizza to raise money. After expenses, all profits are earmarked for giving, usually directed to MCC.
Music Nights usually start with a potluck meal, followed by worship in music and song, led by anyone who has music to share. All are welcome to come and participate.
We hold an Agape Meal each February, and a Fall Harvest Dinner usually in October, opening our doors to anyone from the community who wishes to come. We enjoy fellowshipping and eating together. Everyone is welcome!
Each year there is the opportunity to give funds for Operation Christmas Child, which then distributes to children in need around the world.
Our members come from many different denominational backgrounds, but we all seek to follow Christ in our daily lives. Our beliefs are summed up in the Confession of Faith in a Mennonite Perspective (1995).
I’m not saying that I have this all together, that I have it made. But I am well on my way, reaching out for Christ, who has so wondrously reached out for me. Friends, don’t get me wrong: By no means do I count myself an expert in all of this, but I’ve got my eye on the goal, where God is beckoning us onward—to Jesus. I’m off and running, and I’m not turning back. -- Phil. 3:12-14 The Message
